Spanish design manufacturer Kettal and the Eames Office have introduced the Eames Pavilion System, a modular architectural platform that reimagines Charles and Ray Eames' vision for adaptable, prefabricated buildings using contemporary engineering and manufacturing technologies.
The system debuted at Triennale Milano during Milan Design Week 2026 before making its North American introduction at NeoCon 2026, where Kettal presented the Pavilion System as part of its vision for the future of workplace environments. The company says the modular system will become available for worldwide distribution in the coming months.
Developed through a multi-year collaboration, the Pavilion System builds on more than 15 years of Kettal's experience designing and manufacturing modular architectural structures. Working with the Eames Office, the company documented the iconic Eames House in detail — including its materials, finishes and structural profiles — before adapting its design principles to meet today's manufacturing processes, building standards and workplace needs.
Rather than replicating the Eames House, the Pavilion System translates Charles and Ray Eames' broader philosophy of flexible architecture into a configurable building platform. Based on a lightweight structural framework, prefabricated components — including interchangeable façade panels, glazing systems, roof elements and interior finishes — can be configured for offices, meeting spaces, studios, residential applications, hospitality environments and larger pavilion installations.
Designed to be expanded, reconfigured, disassembled and relocated, the system reflects a growing demand for workplaces that can evolve alongside changing business needs and hybrid work models.
For manufacturers across the surface and panel industry, the project illustrates several trends shaping commercial interiors, including modular construction, prefabrication, adaptable workspace design and the increasing integration of architectural surfaces into factory-built environments. The system also highlights opportunities for decorative panels, engineered wood products, laminates, interior finishes and other advanced materials used throughout modern workplace construction.
According to Kettal, the Pavilion System extends Charles and Ray Eames' decades-old vision of adaptable architecture into the 21st century through industrial manufacturing and contemporary building technologies, demonstrating how modular design continues to influence the future of commercial and residential environments.
