The High Point Market Authority has announced a new leadership lineup for 2027, bringing together executives from furniture manufacturing, design and showroom ownership to help guide the world’s largest home furnishings market.
Jeremy Hoff, CEO of Hooker Furnishings, will become chair of the HPMA Board of Directors after completing a three-year term as vice chair.
Hoff succeeds Christi Barbour, founder and partner of Barbour Spangle Design, who will move into the role of immediate past chair.
“For more than a century, High Point Market has served as the cornerstone of the home furnishings industry, continually evolving to reflect the changing needs of our business,” Hoff said. “I am honored to help build on this remarkable legacy by championing innovation, strengthening industry collaboration, and elevating the Market experience for all who participate.”
For Surface & Panel readers, the leadership shift is notable because the board plays a role in setting strategic direction for a market that increasingly brings together furniture manufacturers, designers, material suppliers, component companies and other segments of the interiors industry.
George Jordan, president of The MT Company and owner of 311 N. Hamilton, will step into the vice chair role after serving two years on the board.
HPMA also named three new directors who will serve two-year terms through October 2028:
- Sean O’Connor, president of Universal Furniture, who will also serve on the Executive Committee
- Vicky Serany, founder of Southern Studio Interior Design
- Nathan Copeland, president of Highland House Furniture
The additions broaden the board’s representation across manufacturing, design and the showroom community.
“We are exceptionally fortunate to have such dynamic leadership guiding the High Point Market Authority,” said Tammy Covington, president and CEO of HPMA. She said the combination of industry experience and perspectives will help keep High Point Market positioned at the forefront of the global home furnishings sector.
The HPMA Board of Directors provides strategic guidance and oversight for market operations and global marketing initiatives.
The next High Point Market is scheduled for April 10–14, 2027, with registration expected to open in mid-January.
