The International Woodworking Fair (IWF) Atlanta concluded its 2026 edition with 24,826 registrations, including 17,058 buyers and 6,501 exhibitors, according to the show's official performance audit.
Held August 25–28 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, IWF 2026 brought together woodworking manufacturers, suppliers, technology providers and industry professionals for four days of equipment demonstrations, product introductions, education and business development.
The event featured 989 exhibiting companies occupying 668,912 net square feet of exhibit space across the convention center. Among those exhibitors, 201 companies participated for the first time.
New attendees also represented a significant portion of the show's audience, with 46 percent of registered buyers attending IWF for the first time. Buyers traveled from all 50 states and 84 countries, underscoring the event's broad domestic and international reach.
Buyers Report Strong Return on Investment
Independent post-show research conducted by MMR Research Associates found that 92 percent of attendees said IWF 2026 met or exceeded their expectations, while 87 percent reported a positive return on investment from attending.
The findings also highlighted the show's role in purchasing decisions and technology evaluation. According to the research, 83 percent of attendees make or directly influence purchasing decisions, while 86 percent identified evaluating products for future purchases as a very or extremely important reason for attending.
Additionally, 87 percent considered meeting with exhibitors a very or extremely important reason to participate, and 85 percent rated the quality of IWF exhibitors highly.
Nearly eight in 10 attendees (79 percent) described IWF Atlanta as North American woodworking's must-attend show.
Exhibitors Cite Sales Opportunities and Qualified Buyers
Exhibitor feedback reflected similarly positive results, with 84 percent reporting that IWF 2026 met or exceeded expectations and 82 percent expressing satisfaction with the event.
Of particular significance to equipment manufacturers, material suppliers and technology providers, 72 percent of exhibitors reported that the show delivered well-qualified buyers important to their businesses. Another 71 percent said participation generated product sales opportunities they would not otherwise have achieved.
The research also found that 75 percent of exhibitors view IWF as the place where North American woodworking does business, while 69 percent consider it their most important U.S. trade show.
Among exhibitors who also participate in other North American and international trade shows, 68 percent said IWF delivered a better show experience.
Looking ahead, 79 percent of exhibitors indicated plans to return for IWF 2028.
Industry Connections Drive Continued Value
The results reinforce the continuing importance of in-person industry events for connecting manufacturers with new equipment, materials, components and production technologies.
For companies serving the surfaces and panels industry, IWF provides opportunities to explore developments in panel processing, fabrication, finishing, automation and manufacturing technology while building relationships across the woodworking supply chain.
The strong percentage of first-time buyers, combined with the high proportion of purchasing decision-makers in attendance, suggests continued opportunities for suppliers to reach new customers and influence future capital investments.
IWF's registration and exhibitor figures were documented through its official 2026 performance audit. Attendee and exhibitor satisfaction findings were gathered independently by MMR Research Associates, with studies reported at a 95 percent confidence level.
Looking ahead, IWF will expand its reach with the debut of IWF West, August 25–27, 2027, at the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. Designed to serve the growing western and southwestern U.S. markets, the new three-day trade show and conference will offer a focused mix of exhibits, education and networking opportunities between the biennial Atlanta events. IWF Atlanta will return in 2028.
