Arclin is expanding distribution of its Firepoint fire-resistant structural sheathing in California through a new partnership with Capital Lumber, the latest move in a broader strategy focused on resilient construction and sustainable product development.
Capital Lumber will stock Firepoint at its Sacramento and Healdsburg, California, locations, increasing access for lumber dealers, builders, contractors, architects and specifiers throughout the region.
Firepoint incorporates Arclin’s proprietary intumescent technology directly onto the panel to help slow fire while maintaining the structural performance and installation characteristics of conventional sheathing. The product is designed for residential, multifamily and Wildland-Urban Interface construction and meets California WUI Chapter 7A requirements.

“Partnering with Capital Lumber allows us to broaden access to Firepoint and better support customers looking for practical ways to incorporate greater fire resilience into their projects,” said Matthew Bruce, Arclin vice president of sales, downstream products.
Firepoint is designed to install within standard framing workflows without requiring a separate fire-protection layer. It is available in 8-foot and 10-foot lengths, with the 10-foot panel introduced in 2026 for taller wall and multifamily applications. According to Arclin, the larger format can help reduce seams, fasteners, material waste and installation time.
The distribution expansion follows Arclin’s recent announcement that it had joined the United Nations Global Compact, a corporate sustainability initiative centered on responsible business practices and environmental and social goals.
Arclin said its sustainability efforts currently focus on responsible sourcing, operational efficiency and product innovation. Since 2023, the company has required suppliers to sign a Code of Conduct addressing areas including labor and employment rights, health and safety, environmental practices, business ethics and regulatory compliance.
The company also participates in the Wood-Based Composites Center and the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification Association. Arclin has earned ISCC PLUS certification for manufacturing facilities in Asturias, Spain, and Richmond, Va., and a number of its products carry certifications including FSC and OEKO-TEX Standard 100.
Arclin has also invested in renewable energy and efficiency initiatives. Its Asturias manufacturing facility added a 12.6-MWp onsite solar array in 2025 featuring more than 22,000 solar panels.
Firepoint has become one of the more visible examples of Arclin’s focus on combining product performance with sustainability and resilience. The sheathing was named a Green Builder Media Sustainable Product of the Year in both 2025 and 2026.
