NLBMDA Presents Chairman's Award to Roger Dankel

The NLBMDA Chairman's Award is presented in recognition of individuals who have demonstrated dedicated service and made outstanding contributions to advancing the mission and goals of the National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association.

The National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association (NLBMDA) presented its Chairman's Award to Roger Dankel, Executive Vice President of North American Sales for Simpson Strong-Tie, during its annual ProDealer Industry Summit held in Savannah, Georgia.

“It has been an honor and privilege to be involved with NLBMDA and serve our customers for 25+ years of my career with Simpson Strong-Tie," said Roger Dankel. "What a great industry and I am just blessed to be a part of it.”

Dankel has spent more than 30-years in the lumber and building material industry and has served as Executive Vice President of North American Sales for Simpson Strong-Tie since January 2023. From July 2014 through December 2022, he served as President of North American Sales of Simpson Manufacturing a subsidiary of Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc.

Dankel first joined Simpson Strong-Tie in 1993 as a field sales representative. In 1997, he was promoted to a sales manager position in McKinney, Texas, then went on to lead all sales functions there as the Branch Sales Manager. In his current role, he oversees the company’s sales operations, including strategic planning, forecasting, sales negotiations, customer satisfaction, market/competitive analysis, and process improvement. He is responsible for ensuring the sales team meets or exceeds sales revenue goals, contributing to the overall profitability of the company.

Dankel is also a past NLBMDA Board member and Chair of the Manufactures and Services Council. He recently announced that he would be retiring at the end of this year.

"Roger was one of the first individuals that I met when I started with NLBMDA and it is a true honor to be able to present the NLBMDA's Chairman's Award to him," said NLBMDA President & CEO, Jonathan Paine. "He has been steadfast in his support of NLBMDA and I wish him the very best with his pending retirement."

The NLBMDA Chairman's Award is presented in recognition of individuals who have demonstrated dedicated service and made outstanding contributions to advancing the mission and goals of the National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association. This award honors those whose leadership and commitment have significantly strengthened both the association and the lumber and building materials industry.

Recipients of the Chairman's Award play a vital role in promoting the growth, success, and core values of the NLBMDA, leaving a lasting impact on the industry and its future.
