Available for delivery live online or in-person, the one-hour course is designed to provide a fundamental understanding of designing a space for occupant health and considerations for choosing materials to enhance employee productivity. Course participants will get an overview of occupant health and its importance when designing a space, examine indoor air quality and different forms of air pollutants, learn how texture and surface choices impact the cleanliness of a space and explore where workspaces are headed post COVID-19 to ensure optimal air quality, safe working conditions and overall employee health.

Amanda Henrickson, REHAU senior sales director for furniture solutions, summarizes the course highlights, “For obvious reasons, occupant health is top of mind in the A&D community right now. One of the bigger bullet points in this course is indoor air quality. We also talk about how color and texture can actually work to improve occupant health and productivity. Then we look forward to what is happening post-COVID in the workspace.”

The introductory-level course has no pre-requisites and is targeted toward architects, interior designers, builders, design/build firms, project owners and anyone who is interested in learning about how the design of interior millwork impacts physical and mental health. For AIA members, Course Number REH12F provides 1 LU|HSW and for IDCEC members, Class Code CEU-106389 provides 1.0 CEU value.
