The Felder Group is celebrating its 70th anniversary, marking seven decades of growth from a small Austrian metal workshop into a global manufacturer of woodworking machinery and processing technology.
Founded in 1956 by Johann and Gertraud Felder, the company has expanded to more than 250 sales and service locations worldwide while continuing to develop and manufacture its machines in Hall in Tyrol, Austria.
To commemorate the milestone, Felder announced several product developments, including expanded availability of its PCS (Preventive Contact System), a non-contact safety technology designed to help reduce the risk of contact with spinning saw blades. The system is now available on additional models, including the K 945 and the redesigned 700 Series in both single- and three-phase configurations.
The company also highlighted continued advancements in two of its established technologies. The patented X-Roll sliding table system, backed by a 10-year factory warranty, uses steel rollers arranged in an X-pattern to provide smooth operation and precision under heavy loads. Felder also continues to expand the use of its Silent-Power spiral cutterblock technology, designed to reduce noise while improving planing efficiency and surface quality.
"Today, we look back on seven decades where a single vision became a global success story," the company said in its anniversary announcement. "Innovation remains our driving force as we set global standards in occupational safety and precision."
Looking ahead, Felder said it will continue investing in research and development, sustainable manufacturing technologies and its international distribution network. The company reports holding more than 35 international patents and plans to continue introducing new machinery and production technologies for the woodworking industry.
