NeoCon 2026 is expanding its focus on lighting design with the debut of Illuminate at NeoCon, a new show-within-a-show dedicated entirely to lighting innovation and experiential specification.
Launching during the 57th edition of NeoCon, taking place June 8-10 at The Mart, the new 7th-floor destination will bring together more than 60 lighting manufacturers, designers and technology brands for a comprehensive exploration of lighting’s role in commercial interiors and the built environment.
The showcase reflects NeoCon’s 2026 theme, “Where Design Connects,” while emphasizing the growing intersection between lighting, materiality, wellness, architectural intent and surface design.

Lighting Meets Materiality and Interior Performance
Illuminate at NeoCon will feature a wide range of architectural and decorative lighting exhibitors, including brands focused on acoustic integration, linear systems, hospitality applications, sustainable technologies and immersive lighting environments.
Participating companies include brands such as Axis Lighting, Axolight, Estiluz, Hudson Valley Lighting Group, Marset, RBW, Stackabl and TLS Architectural Lighting.
For the surface and panel industries, the event’s emphasis on how lighting interacts with finishes, textures, colors and materials underscores a growing design priority across commercial interiors. Several experiential installations will specifically examine how lighting conditions influence the perception of decorative surfaces, architectural panels and interior materials.
Among the featured activations is a five-part vignette series developed by line + form + light, showcasing both successful and problematic lighting applications in real-world environments.
Topics include:
- Wall wash versus wall graze techniques and their effect on texture and depth
- The impact of light versus dark finishes on perceived brightness
- Circadian lighting and wellness-focused environments
- Lighting’s influence on facial perception and emotional tone
- How color rendering alters the appearance of finishes and approved material samples
Education, CEUs and Live Programming
Beyond the exhibition floor, Illuminate will feature extensive educational programming aimed at architects, designers, specifiers and lighting professionals.
The schedule includes:
- Spotlight Sessions focused on wellness, adaptive environments and lighting technology
- CEU-accredited educational opportunities
- Live podcast recordings
- Interactive activations and networking events
A featured panel discussion, The Lighting that Shapes Design, will bring together lighting consultants, designers and specification experts to discuss lighting’s role in revealing materiality and shaping spatial experience within commercial interiors.
Growing Importance of Lighting in Commercial Design
The launch of Illuminate reflects the increasing role lighting plays in shaping workplace, hospitality, healthcare and public environments — not simply as a technical requirement, but as a critical component of the overall design experience.
As manufacturers across the surfaces, cabinetry, architectural products and interiors sectors continue integrating lighting into products and environments, the dedicated showcase positions lighting as a key driver of both performance and aesthetics.
Preview Day for Illuminate at NeoCon will take place June 7, including a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon on the 7th floor of The Mart.
