The High Point Market Authority (HPMA) and Loloi Rugs are launching a new live interior design competition at Fall High Point Market, bringing designers Jeremiah Brent, Amber Lewis and Jean Stoffer together to judge projects from designers across the country.
Titled “Best in Design: Live at High Point Market,” the competition will culminate during HPMA’s Sunday Keynote Series event at 3 p.m. Oct. 18 at the High Point Theatre.
Designers may submit projects for consideration from Aug. 17 through Sept. 17. Brent, Lewis and Stoffer will review the entries ahead of Fall Market and select four finalists, each of whom will receive $2,000 and an invitation to present their project live on the keynote stage.
The finalists will compete for an additional $10,000 grand prize and the title of inaugural “Best in Design” winner, bringing the competition’s total awards to $18,000.
For the surface and panel industry, the competition offers a window into how leading designers evaluate the materials, finishes and products that shape residential interiors. Projects will be judged on design excellence, creative problem-solving, space transformation and storytelling — criteria that increasingly influence how surfaces, cabinetry, furniture and other interior products are specified and presented to clients.
Dennis Scully, host of the Business of Home podcast, will moderate the live discussion as the three judges evaluate each finalist’s work and share their perspectives on the projects. The winner will be announced at the conclusion of the event.
“Bringing world-class talent and a live critique to the Keynote stage will deliver an educational and high-energy platform for celebrating exceptional interior design,” said Tammy Covington, HPMA president and CEO.
The competition is the second Keynote Series event announced for Fall High Point Market, Oct. 17-21. HPMA previously announced an opening-day keynote with the National Kitchen & Bath Association that will unveil findings from the organizations’ 2026 Whole-Home Design Study.
The High Point Theatre is located adjacent to the Transportation Terminal. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m. for registered High Point Market attendees.
