The AIA Conference on Architecture & Design (AIA26) concluded June 13 in San Diego, having brought together more than 12,000 architects, designers and industry professionals from around the world for four days of education, networking and product discovery.

Held at the San Diego Convention Center, this year’s event reflected a profession navigating rapid change. Topics including artificial intelligence, climate resilience, material innovation and evolving business strategies shaped discussions throughout nearly 350 continuing education sessions and two days of expo activity. The show floor featured hundreds of exhibiting brands showcasing the latest products and technologies influencing the built environment.

New elements such as Braindate networking, expanded architect-led tours and dedicated expo zones focused on design, technology, materials and practice management highlighted AIA’s emphasis on fostering meaningful connections and actionable insights.

As architects continue to balance performance, sustainability and user experience, AIA26 underscored the growing importance of collaboration across the design and manufacturing sectors. The conference now turns its attention to AIA27, scheduled for May 19–22, 2027, in Philadelphia.
