With the growing popularity of pocketing cabinet door systems and feedback from customers about existing systems, Sugatsune’s engineers created a solution that is simple, reliable and easy to install—and that solution was named a 2024 Best of KBIS Finalist.

Launched in 2023, the new ALT-ST Pocket Door System can be used in different applications.

“We sincerely thank the judges for recognizing our new ALT-ST Pocket Door System as a 2024 Best of KBIS finalist and the voices of our customers from which this product was developed.” says Curtis Nakamura, Sr. Vice President.  “With a weight capacity of 44 pounds, this system can manage door measuring up to 94-1/2 inches tall.  Performance was optimized with an innovative connecting bar that eliminates racking and door sag with its easy five-step adjustment that allows you to easily set the right door alignment.”

The ALT-ST comes in two different versions and with various slide lengths to accommodate different door sizes and weights. It also hinges on Sugatsune’s new 360-Olympia cup hinges which feature an industry first, five-speed adjustable damper to ensure the desired soft-closing speeds.  The ALT-ST is available for inset and overlay applications and is priced well below some of the popular competitive systems.  Most importantly, the new ALT-ST is easy to install and will deliver the convenience and satisfaction Sugatsune strives to provide to people.

Over its 94-year history, Sugatsune has built a reputation for manufacturing high quality hardware based on the challenges that customers face in the market.  Visit for more information.
