Sauder Closets debuted 20 new products for its line of closets at the Closet Conference and Expo in Chicago April 17-19. Sauder Closets showcased its latest innovations and product developments at the show. Expo attendees saw new components, new finishes and learned more about Sauder’s commitment to bringing top-of-the-line products to market.

Aiming to further diversify its offerings, Sauder introduced two new finishes for its closet line – Ashton Oak and Modern Grey – that complement its current finishes Glacier White, Spiced Mahogany and Slate Rift.

Another major highlight Sauder showcased is the change in its drawer design. Moving from side-mount to undermount soft-close slides, the new drawers provide enhanced durability and a smoother user experience.

According to Sauder Closets’ National Sales Manager Chad Arndt, “Because we’re also a cabinetry manufacturer, many of the innovations we develop for cabinets can be transferred easily to our closets. Sauder Closets’ new drawer is a great example of that. We created a process for our cabinetry division, where we rethought how a drawer gets put together and then we built a machine to do it.  Essentially, we build a drawer with a half-inch drawer bottom in it and then it’s fully wrapped. It’s a very robust drawer and now the same drawer will be the standard drawer for our closets.”

In addition to the new drawer, Sauder Closets also shared:

  • New glass doors and lighting options
  • Matte Black hardware
  • New, modern tab style handles in gold, chrome and matte black
  • New sizes/parts
  • 96” tall uprights in 19” and 24” expanded depths
  • New Hutch panel heights
  • Adjustable and fixed shelves in 19” and 24” depths
  • 96” tall doors
  • 18” wide doors
  • New MasterTrac finishes

Sauder Closets also sponsored the Top Shelf Design Competition at the Expo and Closet Guru Eric Marshall led a seminar on Sauder’s closet lighting systems. The German functional hardware brand Kesseböhmer, a newcomer to the North American closet industry, will be demonstrating their hardware innovations with a series of vignettes in their booth constructed entirely from Sauder Closets components.
