Springfield, Ore. – Roseburg Forest Products will begin labeling its composite wood products in compliance with new federal formaldehyde emissions standards no later than April 30, well before the currently scheduled effective date of June 1, 2018.
Title VI of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) formaldehyde standards apply to all composite wood products manufactured in, imported into, or sold in the United States. Roseburg manufactures medium density fiberboard (MDF), particleboard and hardwood plywood, all of which fall under TSCA Title VI, which is administered by the Environmental Protection Agency.
While TSCA Title VI may be new to the industry, Roseburg has a documented history of low formaldehyde emissions at or below federal requirements. As a result, the company is well equipped to accommodate the rules change and shifting effective date and meet the needs of our customers.
