The International Surface Fabricators Association (ISFA) has appointed Lorenzo Marquez, founder of Marqet Group, as chief of brand, a move aimed at strengthening the association’s marketing, member engagement, and long-term growth across the countertop and surfacing industry.

The appointment marks another step in ISFA’s ongoing evolution under CEO Laurie Weber and the association’s board of directors, as it continues to position itself as a leading fabrication association serving fabricators, suppliers, manufacturers, and industry partners.

In his new role, Marquez will oversee ISFA’s marketing strategy, brand direction, and growth initiatives. His work will focus on sharpening the association’s value proposition, increasing member engagement, supporting professional standards and licensing efforts, and expanding ISFA’s reach nationally and internationally.

ISFA said Marquez will also help develop programs that support the full countertop and surface fabrication supply chain, from business owners and executives to shop managers and technicians.

“ISFA exists to serve as the unified voice of the countertop and surface fabrication industry,” said Weber. “With strong board leadership and a committed staff supporting our strategic plan, we are focused on delivering measurable value to our members. Lorenzo brings executive marketing experience, governance insight, and deep industry knowledge that will support our growth and strengthen the value we provide across the supply chain.”

According to the association, the hire aligns with its broader goal of supporting the full spectrum of the countertop and surface fabrication community across materials and market segments. ISFA’s efforts continue to center on workforce development, education, safety, professional standards, and business excellence.

Since becoming CEO, Weber has led what ISFA described as a deliberate strengthening of the association’s operations, with an emphasis on governance, member programming, organizational discipline, and sustainable growth in domestic and international markets.

Marquez brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in the countertop, surfacing, and building materials sectors. He previously served as vice president of marketing for Cosentino North America and is a two-time chairman of the board of the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), where he helped support the organization’s growth and broader industry influence. He also played a role in the development and expansion of Rockheads Group.

Through Marqet Group, Marquez advises fabricators across the country on market positioning, go-to-market strategy, and business growth in the surfacing industry. He will continue leading the firm while serving in his new role with ISFA.

“I am proud to support ISFA at this important point in its growth,” said Marquez. “Laurie’s leadership, combined with the guidance of the board of directors, is creating real momentum for the association. My focus will be on strengthening member value, expanding engagement, and supporting programs that contribute to the long-term growth of the surface fabrication community.”

ISFA said the appointment reflects its continued commitment to operational strength, industry leadership, and measurable value as it works to advance professionalism and standards throughout the surface fabrication industry.
