The High Point Market Authority (HPMA) is partnering with the Design Leadership Network (DLN) to present an opening-day keynote centered on residential kitchen design at Spring High Point Market.
Titled “Designing the Kitchen Your Clients Want,” the keynote will take place Saturday, April 25, at 3 p.m. and will feature a designer panel discussion with Benjamin Johnston, Alfredo Paredes, Caren Rideau, and Sarah Robertson. The session will be moderated by Hadley Keller Lloyd, editorial director of DLN.
HPMA President and CEO Tammy Covington said the program reflects how central the kitchen has become to both home life and design thinking. “Design professionals are attuned to how the kitchen serves as the heart of nearly every home,” Covington said. “We’re excited the DLN chose to focus on the evolution of this room for our Spring Market keynote.”
DLN Executive Director and CEO Michael Diaz-Griffith noted that today’s kitchens increasingly blend aesthetics with function and wellness—an intersection that continues to influence materials, surfaces, and product selection. “Now more than ever, the kitchen is a laboratory for how we think about living well—how we gather, nourish ourselves, and integrate beauty, performance, and wellness into daily life,” Diaz-Griffith said. “Its renewed centrality reflects changing patterns of work, hospitality, and home—and, ultimately, family life. This conversation brings together designers who are shaping that evolution with clarity, intention, and a rigorous understanding of what modern luxury demands.”
DLN also shared that a new book, The Kitchen, is currently in development with luxury publisher Assouline.
The keynote will be held at the High Point Theatre, located next to the Transportation Terminal, with doors opening at 2:30 p.m. The event is open to all registered High Point Market attendees.
