Program

DAY 1: JUNE 28, 2017

• Annual General Meeting (members only) 09:00-10:00
  Join FSC Canada Board of Directors and staff for a chance to hear exciting updates about the past year, network with other FSC members and vote on key decisions for the year ahead
   
• General Assembly Preparations (members only) 10:00-12:00
  FSC members are fundamental to the organization and its vision. Diverse economic,social and environmental interests share decision-making authority, bringing integrity and resilience to the FSC system. FSC’s International General Assembly, held every three years, is the highest FSC platform for decision-making and is taking place this year from October 7-13 in Vancouver, BC. In preparation for the General Assembly we welcome members from Canada to gather together and discuss key motions that have been proposed.
   
• Aboriginal Rights, FPIC, and Indigenous Cultural Landscapes (open to all) 13:00-18:00
  Learn more about FSC Canada’s approach to Aboriginal rights; Free, Prior and Informed Consent; and Indigenous Cultural Landscapes in our draft Forest Management Standard. This session will provide an overview of proposed indicators, what the changes will mean to current practices and what to expect in the upcoming months.
   
• Cocktail Reception (open to all) 18:00-20:00
  Following the meeting we look forward to getting to know you over cocktails and appetizers and to thank you for your continued support.

DAY 2: JUNE 29, 2017

• Forest Management Standard Forum (open to all) 09:00-17:00
  As we approach the final stages of FSC Canada’s Forest Management Standard revision process, we encourage members and stakeholders to join us in reviewing the proposed changes, including a review of intact forest landscapes; woodland caribou; free, prior and informed consent; and Indigenous Cultural Landscapes. Provide your input and join the discussion to build momentum for the transition towards the new Forest management standard.

FSC Members are invited to attend in person, but if you are unable to attend, please nominate a proxy on your behalf. Proxy votes allow you to give your vote to another member or the secretary of the board to vote on your behalf. Submit your proxy here. Proxies are due by June 16, 2017.
