The event, which has been a cornerstone for education in the wholesale distribution industry since 1994, brings together professionals for an intensive four-day program of learning and networking.

UID's curriculum is tailored to address the specific challenges and opportunities in the wholesale distribution industry. It offers a diverse range of topics under six educational tracks: Distribution Strategy, Leadership/Professional Development, Management, Marketing, Operations, and Sales. The 2024 edition will feature over forty sessions, led by a mix of seasoned and new expert speakers, ensuring a dynamic and comprehensive learning experience.

The program's collaboration with Purdue University's Department of Technology Leadership and Innovation adds a significant academic dimension. Participants who complete the UID program receive a Letter of Completion from Purdue University, acknowledging 30 hours of Continuing Education Units (CEUs). These CEUs contribute towards a Professional Certificate in Innovative Distribution, awarded after attending three UID events.

The 2024 UID event is expected to be in high demand, consistent with its history of selling out. Early registration, opening in December, is advised for distribution and manufacturing firms wishing to secure their spots. More information about the event, including detailed session descriptions and registration details, is available on the UID website.

The NBMDA, hosting UID, is a prominent trade association in North America. It represents leading wholesale distributors of various building materials, including wood panels, surfacing materials, cabinet hardware, and finishes. The association's membership encompasses a wide range of distributors and suppliers catering to diverse sectors such as independent building material dealers, kitchen and bath dealers, and companies in the cabinetry, architectural woodwork, and specialty woodworking industries. More information about NBMDA and its activities can be found on its website.
