In November hundreds of healthcare design professionals gathered at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Conference Center in Nashville for what turned out to be a great year for the Healthcare Design Conference. Attendance and exhibitor participation was noticeably up from years past and even more encouraging, the presence of three dimensional laminate had increased also. Large healthcare furnishing companies like Herman Miller and Legacy furniture were in attendance displaying a variety of three dimensional laminated components along a dozen or more like-minded exhibitors.
While three dimension laminate seems to meet merely an ancillary need for most end-users, it is apparent that the industry is evolving and the material benefits remain an integral part of that change. For product engineers, three dimensional laminate offers a non-porous surface, seamless edges and expands design capabilities. In addition, three dimensional laminate can be made in virtually any color and wood grain pattern with commercial grade and antimicrobial properties.
Next year's Healthcare Design Conference will be held in Phoenix through the first week of November. Observing the current trajectories, we expect attendance to be up and the presence of three dimensional laminate to be even greater.
