Uniboard, a North American leader of manufactured engineered wood products, celebrated the official launch of its Moncure MDF mill in North Carolina on October 28. In February 2010, Uniboard started operations at its Moncure MDF facility, becoming one of North America’s largest manufacturers of MDF and HDF products. To celebrate this milestone, Uniboard formally launched the opening of this mill by inviting its customers to tour the new facility, witness its production capabilities first-hand and participate in a series of keynote addresses.
“From beginning to end, guests will be amazed by the plant’s output capacity and technology and will leave with a lasting impression of Uniboard’s commitment to our customers and to industry innovation,” said James Hogg, President and CEO of Uniboard. “Our 340,000-square-foot facility is at the forefront of technology and flexibility and is capable of servicing the eastern United States market. The official launch event will celebrate the mill’s advanced production capacity and processes and will highlight the one-stop-shop capabilities of the Moncure site.”
Uniboard Moncure is the largest MDF/HDF production line in North America and the company’s first MDF facility in the U.S. In addition to producing MDF and HDF panels in a variety of grades and sizes, the Moncure mega-site also includes particleboard and thermofused melamine panel production facilities, making Uniboard Moncure a one-stop-shop facility for distributors as well as manufacturers of kitchen cabinetry, office and residential furniture, store fixtures, flooring and molding.
