Uniboard, the North American leader in engineered wood products and a subsidiary of Pfleiderer AG, recently added a 12-color melamine collection titled Elegantly Natural. The new wood tones will be available in the company's full MDF and particleboard lines as well as environmentally sensitive panels NU Green™ zero and the competitively priced NU Green™ 2 NAUF particleboard.
“As we reveal our 2010 Melamine Colours, we are excited to bring consumers new and sustainable design options,” said Don Raymond, vice president of marketing at Uniboard. “From strong accents and contrasts to modern linear wood grains, our 12 new colors offer the perfect balance between residential and commercial design needs. This collection is innovative and serves to set the standard in design across all market segments from office furniture, store fixtures, residential kitchens/closets/storage to commercial and healthcare.”
The Elegantly Natural line will show at the International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta, August 25 through 28. In addition to a display at IWF booth 2337, Uniboard will host a launch event for the melamine collection and two NU Green products for top clients, designers and market enthusiasts.
Uniboard's NU Green™ 2 NAUF particleboard panels are made with a cost-effective resin that makes them economical while still meeting the industry’s stringent environmental standards.
“At Uniboard, we believe environmental stewardship is not just about the future, it is also about the present,” says Lise Plante, Product Manager, Uniboard. “In introducing NU Green 2 NAUF particleboard, the most competitively priced eco-friendly panel on the market, we are taking the sting out of being green and allowing manufacturers to implement change today instead of tomorrow.”
Uniboard’s new resin minimizes manufacturing costs while maintaining formaldehyde emissions in accordance with CARB (California Air Resources Board) Phase 2 emissions standards. Key features include reduced transportation footprint with low-density ANSI M-2 grade and up to six potential LEED points. Uniboard says it expects NU Green 2 NAUF particleboard will be well received by the industry, as builders and manufacturers face high prices to use environmentally friendly products that new regulations require. The Company will immediately begin production of the new panels, which will be available in M-2 grade, at its Val-d’Or site in Northern Quebec.
Like all Uniboard products, NU Green 2 NAUF particleboard is made using 100-percent pre-consumer recycled or recovered wood fiber. The panels are FSC-certified (Forest Stewardship Council) and EPP-certified (Environmentally Preferable Product by the Composite Panel Association).
