DuPont's mySurface, the first iPhone application of its kind in the surfacing industry is changing the way consumers, architects and designers choose their surfaces. The mySurface app lets users search for DuPont™ Corian® solid surface and DuPont™ Zodiaq® quartz surface colors by hue, providing a color swatch that fills the screen along with information on how to order a sample and allowing users to experiment with surface color and texture while on the job.
"With the unlimited design possibilities of our products, DuPont seeks to inspire the architect and design community, spurring their creativity and pushing the limits of what’s possible" says Thomas F. Schuler, vice president and general manager for DuPont Building Innovations. "Our mission is simple: to help architects and designers leave their mark on the world, one design at a time. The new DuPont mySurface application for the iPhone and iPod Touch makes choosing samples of DuPont™ Corian® and DuPont™ Zodiaq® easier than ever before. The free application provides high-definition, full-screen, zoomable samples of the entire palette of DuPont™ Corian® solid surface and DuPont™ Zodiaq® quartz surface colors. In addition to reviewing colors, designers can mark favorites and share them with clients via email."
DuPont says it will provide updates and enhanced features to the app on a regular basis. At this time, mySurface is available in the United States only. "As these applications evolve, I see significant enhancements to our ability to partner with architects and designers on specific designs in real time, speeding up the design and selection process, saving time and money -- and in a much more sustainable fashion by eliminating the need to ship heavy samples," Schuler says. "For instance, the iPad has the potential to make these types of applications even more useful with the portability of a larger screen and the ability to apply images to specific designs and manipulate them to enable decision making."
