IWF Challengers AwardIWF AtlantaThe International Woodworking Machinery & Furniture Supply Fair (IWF) reports 65 companies entered 80 products to compete for the 2010 Challengers Distinguished Achievement Award, which it presents to seven outstanding companies every two years.

New for 2010, the Challengers Award finalists and winners will be recognized all four days in a highly visible display area on the show floor to provide information to buyers and the media. The Challengers Award, to be presented during IWF August 25 through 28 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Ga., is known throughout the world as the woodworking industry’s highest honor, recognizing advancements in technology or significant contributions to environmental improvement. The award focuses on companies that have distinguished themselves by developing innovative technology in products, materials, supplies and services. It challenges IWF-exhibiting companies to develop revolutionary, creative, ingenious, forward-thinking technology, materials, services or safety devices that advance the industry.

“The Challengers Award and IWF are the platform for innovation and new product introduction. Our industry continues to invest in the future. Industry professionals will have an unique opportunity to see some of the most advanced new products available,” commented Riccardo Azzoni IWF 2010 Chairman and President of Atlantic Machinery Corporation based in New Millford, Conn.

A panel of judges will review and analyze each entry and decide on the top 20 entries just prior to the fair. The final judging will take place August 24, and the winners will be announced August 25.
