BIESSE AMERICA and CANADA, a leading provider of high-tech computer-numerically-controlled manufacturing equipment (CNC) used to shape and finish a range of materials including engineered-wood materials has formed an Advanced Materials Division to serve the needs for a growing demand for CNC machines used to fabricate a wide range of advanced materials including plastics, composites and non-ferrous metals. These broad material categories are used in a spectrum of industrial and consumer durable goods, retail store displays and signage.
At the same time, BIESSE has appointed Mr. Chris Plouff to Product Manager, Advanced Materials to lead sales and product management of that division. Mr. Plouff brings 30 years of experience to the role. He will establish relationships with and serve companies that machine and finish advanced materials used in finished products and sub-assemblies found in aerospace, rail transportation, architectural, industrial, automotive, consumer electronics, medical and scientific equipment.
Plouff will help steer the adaptation and development of BIESSE machinery to better meet the needs of these segments and their applications. He spent more than three decades addressing customer needs in the target industries. Along with that experience, Plouff brings an in-depth knowledge of BIESSE machinery capabilities.
He did his undergraduate studies at Milwaukee Area Technical College in computer-numerically-controlled machines. This solid experience in the academic, application and sales areas makes Plouff an ideal fit to address the needs of customers engaged in machining advanced materials.
“BIESSE is the largest manufacturer of Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) Machinery. We have formed an Advanced Materials Division to serve the needs for a growing demand in equipment used to machine a wide range of advanced materials,” says Federico Broccoli. “Mr. Plouff brings a wealth of contacts and practical experience in selling to and serving manufacturing companies and suppliers – particularly aerospace companies. Mr. Plouff worked for BIESSE several years ago and has returned to our organization because of recent advancements in our product offering that made BIESSE and its partner-company offerings particularly well-suited to advanced materials industries. He will recommend solutions, make technical presentations, provide practical training and demonstrations and service key customers.”
